WHAT IS nEW?
Dance-Driven. Artist-Fueled.

The nEW festival is a “dance-driven and artist fueled” program that supports choreographic research and development by providing choreographers and dancers with daily class, rehearsal space, studio showings and performances in an atmosphere that encourages collaboration, process, risk-taking, peer response, and community investment at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia.

In June, we will offer community classes taught by nEW Artists and a dance theatre workshop led by Melanie Stewart. During this time the artists will have the opportunity to engage in peer-to-peer mentorship as they continue to work on their choreography. We will continue to develop the community of nEW, and develop our work for premier presentation in January 2009.

At the end of the session, on June 19th at 6:30 pm we invite the public to the Meet the Artists/See the Work event in the dance studios at UArts providing an insider's view to the community of nEW.
